Hot off the press in 2024! Jeremy Mann‘s latest book Mann Vol. 3 is a black hardcover book with MANN embossed on the cover and a red rabbit insignia on the spine. Measuring 12×12 inches, it contains 488 pages of his works from 2018 to 2023.
MANN Vol. 3 opens with seven spreads of studio photos to transport us into his space. As we step inside, we can feel the intricate rug underfoot, smell the turpentine, and hear the soft crinkles of endless papers nestling into their places. Photos, books, and sketches disguise the desks, tables, and walls. This installment is light on text but brimming with pictures that tell his story of diligent work.
Upon entry, he introduces us to “The Muse”. This chapter explores his renditions of beautiful faces, delicate fingers, and billowing frocks into fine art. Much like in Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, the book gives us considerable high-resolution and detailed images to immerse us into the paintings, just as we would be able to in person. Since the works featured are so recent, some of the paintings are even on view at the gallery like “The Raven” and “Below the Veil“.

The next chapter brings his well-famed and much-loved cityscapes and compositions into view. While he has completely turned his attention to the female form in the last few years, his cityscapes will always be a treasured era.
We then explore his draftsmanship through figure drawings, some of which you may recognize from the gallery. Original drawings “KK07”, “KK08”, “KK10”, “KK11”, “KK12”, and “Beneath The Hallowed Heart” are on view with us now. His experimentation and skill with graphite and charcoal are exceptional, a flawless harmony between value and line lets the eye seamlessly move from figure to ground.

To close, in true Jeremy Mann fashion, he adds a few animal paintings one of a rabbit and one of his beloved cat Midna (2007-2023). If you can’t visit us in the gallery, feel free to flip through a bit of the book with the publisher, Editions Caurette, on YouTube.
